Thyroid Education with Dr. Shabir Abadin
Join general surgeon Dr. Shabir Abadin as he discusses the importance of your thyroid gland and how keeping an eye on it can save you from other health issues down the line! Free Screening for Colorectal Cancer
Doctors recommend regular screening for colorectal cancer beginning at age 50. With a fecal occult blood test (FOBT), samples are checked for hidden (occult) blood in the stool which may indicate colon cancer or polyps in the colon or rectum. To request this free kit to be mailed to your house, please click here. Once you have completed the test, the sample can be mailed back to Silver Cross Hospital’s lab for processing using the addressed envelope included in the kit.

Childbirth Education
Prepared Childbirth Class – 2 Part (Virtual)
September 21 & 24, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Participants will receive instruction from our childbirth educators on breathing, relaxation and floor exercise techniques in this class. It is approximately 3 hours per session and is held over 2 sessions.

Moms will learn the basics of breastfeeding including establishing a good milk supply, avoiding difficulties, using a breast pump and so much more.

Obesity & Your Health (Virtual)
Please join us for a VIRTUAL Informational Weight Loss Seminar! Participants will learn about the advantages and risks of weight loss surgery including laparoscopic gastric bypass, gastric banding with the LAP-BAND® and REALIZE® systems, gastric sleeve, and revisional bariatric procedures, ReShape® Gastric Balloon; find out who is a candidate for the procedure; and hear from area patients about their experiences. Care Connect – Asynchronous Care 24/7
Silver Cross Care Connect virtual care platform enables patients to get care from anywhere, including the comfort of home, for common conditions like sinus infections, skin rashes and bladder infections. Answer a series of questions about your feelings and symptoms in an online health interview, then a provider from Silver Cross Hospital reviews your responses and creates a treatment plan (you’ll be notified when the results are available, usually within an hour during office hours, or first thing in the morning if your visit is completed after hours), which may include a prescription if necessary!
