Ruth Colby Leadership Award
The Silver Cross Employee Experience Committee is pleased to announce the Ruth Colby Leadership Award.
The award is intended to recognize and honor a member of Silver Cross Leadership who best embodies and personifies the qualities that made Ruth such a special leader, including:
- Strong mentorship skills
- Highly effective communication skills
- Courageous
- Innovative
- Inspirational
- Silver Cross brand ambassador
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Community engagement
- Growth-oriented
- Empathetic
Individuals do not need to possess all qualities to be considered for the award, however they should demonstrate several qualities and their impact, felt by many. Quite simply, they should be a difference-maker for Silver Cross. All nominees must have completed at least one full year as a full-time Silver Cross employee.
Nomination Process
Any Silver Cross employee can nominate a member of Silver Cross Leadership for this award. Eligible Silver Cross Leadership includes individuals at all levels that have accountability for leading, managing, and/or providing direction and/or coaching to Silver Cross Hospital, SCMG and PSMG employees. Nominees should have at least one year of full-time service at the time of the nomination.
Nominators must include a brief essay on why their Nominee is deserving of this award recognition. Nominations may be submitted beginning on June 1, and through March 31 yearly.
Selection Process
All submissions will be reviewed and vetted by the Silver Cross Employee Experience Committee. The Experience Committee will select three overall nominations and forward their recommendations to the Silver Cross Executive Team for consideration. The Silver Cross Executive Team will select the award winner.
Recognition
Each year’s recipient of the Ruth Colby Leadership Award will receive an award commemorating the honor as well as the opportunity to attend an industry (leadership) conference in the Chicagoland region; attendance at the selected industry conference must occur within two years of receiving the award.
The recipient will be announced at the April Leadership meeting and recognized and promoted throughout Hospital Week via Silver Cross’s various communication channels.
