Ms. Rivera is a nurse practitioner (2006) and a board-certified wound/ostomy care specialist (2001). She worked as an ICU/ER/Cath lab RN for 23 years and then graduated from North Park University in 2006 with her Masters of Science in Nursing and was board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Since that time she has worked in Podiatry, Primary Care, Mobile Health Care, as a Home Care wound consultant, and in outpatient Advanced Wound Care centers that including Hyperbaric therapy. She has over 20 years of experience in Wound Care. She was an instructor at Rosalind Franklin University - Scholl College of Podiatry Medicine, a member of their Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research team, and has several publications. She has a passion for limb salvage and holistic treatment of the entire patient when they are suffering from chronic wounds.
She believes that addressing the individual's physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions optimize adherence to a plan of care and expedite healing and quality of life.
