Role of the Physical Therapist following a Total Knee Replacement:

Measure the strength and flexibility of your muscles and instruct you in an appropriate exercise program.
Adjust your walker to the appropriate height.
Instruct you in the proper walking pattern using a rolling walker. We will also instruct you on how to safely ascend and descend a platform step.
Instruct you on how to safely ascend and descend stairs using a handrail and a cane or crutch.
Review car transfer.
