Silver Cross Emergency Center Expansion Underway in Homer Glen
Silver Cross is expanding its free-standing Emergency Center in Homer Glen, expected to be completed by spring 2024.
Silver Cross is expanding, and construction is underway at the free-standing Emergency Center (FEC) in Homer Glen to meet the emergency care needs of patients in the community!
“When we first opened the facility in 2009, we had the capacity to care for 25 patients per day with little to no wait,” explains Celia Rademacher, manager, Homer Glen FEC. “However, the need for accessible and timely emergency care has grown exponentially and we now receive twice as many patients, with roughly 50 or more visits a day.”
Upon completion in spring 2024, the FEC will have:
9 treatment rooms
1 procedure room
Additional laboratory workspace and blood draw areas
Expanded ultrasound testing operations
And more!
Silver Cross’ FEC is staffed 24 hours a day with a team of highly skilled emergency medicine physicians, nurses, paramedics and support staff specially trained in the treatment of adults, children and infants.
“Because our patients are our first priority, Silver Cross is investing approximately $3 million to not only increase our ER capacity, but to also enhance the overall efficiency of our emergency care.” Rademacher added.
The Homer Glen FEC is located at 12701 W. 143rd Street, just east of South Bell Road.
