The Silver Cross Foundation raised over $300,000 at the 32nd annual Silver Cross Charity Golf Classic, presented by Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service.  The fundraiser was held June 26 at Crystal Tree Golf and Country Club in Orland Park.  The proceeds will help Silver Cross Hospital advance with new facilities, programs and technology including the expansion of the Emergency Care Center in Homer Glen.

“It was a beautiful day on and off the course as many businesses, physicians, and friends came together to support Silver Cross Hospital,” said Tracy Simons, Executive Director of the Silver Cross Foundation. “Thanks to a generous donation from Tom and Michele Vana during the awards dinner program, our Golf Committee chaired by Rudy Mahalik raised a record-breaking $300,000 to continue providing the outstanding care and personalized experience synonymous with Silver Cross.”

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the 2023 Silver Cross Corporate Citizen Award to D’Arcy Motors. This annual award recognizes a local business that has demonstrated meaningful leadership through corporate social responsibility programs, philanthropy and volunteerism in our community and at Silver Cross Hospital.

For more than 30 years D’Arcy Motors has supported hundreds of local organizations throughout Will and Grundy counties. From youth sports to schools, churches, and assisting with the elderly, this family-owned business with dealerships in Joliet and Morris has established lasting relationships by lending a helping hand where it is needed most. In addition, the D’Arcy family has been ardent supporters of Silver Cross investing in the Hospital’s structural heart surgical program and Amy, Matthew and Jay Vana Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Will County’s first and only NICU. Most recently, Sue D’Arcy helped raise over $100,000 for the Midwest Center for Lung at Silver Cross at the Silver Social fundraiser.  And, Terry D’Arcy voluntarily serves on the Silver Cross Board of Trustees.

In addition to D’Arcy Motors and Superior Air Ground Ambulance Service, over 80 organizations participated in this year’s Charity Golf Classic.  Major sponsors supporting the Hospital’s Foundation include AON, Block Electric Company, Busey Bank, CAP STRAT, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates, Czerkies Properties, Dr. Tom Hurley, EM Strategies, Hollywood Casino-Joliet, Jensen & Halstead, Leopardo Construction, Lewis University, Low Voltage Solutions, Midwest Respiratory, Old National Bank, PFS Group, Phamily, Power Construction, Reed Construction, Remedy Medical Properties, Sentinel Technologies, Silver Cross Medical Staff, Silver Oaks Behavior Hospital, University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital Victorian Village, and Village of New Lenox.
