No-Hassle Gifts the No-Hassle Way

We are always grateful for cash to fund the work that supports our mission, and we encourage you to support us in this way. We understand, too, that the green stuff is not the only way to sustain Silver Cross Hospital. In fact, we ask that you consider supporting the Silver Cross Foundation – the 501c3 fundraising arm of the Hospital, in an entirely different way.

How to Gift Your Stuff

Vintage Baseball CardsThe simplest way to give us an asset is a bequest in a living trust or will that specifies which stuff you’d like to bequeath to the Silver Cross Foundation such as:

  • Valuable antiques
  • Stamp and coin collections
  • Silver, gold and precious gems
  • Art
  • Cars, boats and recreational vehicles
  • Sports memorabilia and trading cards

If you are considering a gift of artifacts, please call us first for important guidelines for this type of gift. Naming Silver Cross as a specific beneficiary isn’t costly and will not impact your cash flow. If your will or living trust is up-to-date, a simple amendment (called a codicil) could be all you need.

In addition to tangible property to support our mission, we also welcome other assets such as real estate, given in whole or in part, artwork, and closely held stock.

Another Easy Way to Give

The options for giving assets don’t end with physical possessions. The plan administrators for your life insurance policy, financial accounts (savings, brokerage, checking), and retirement plans provide beneficiary designation forms on which you can designate what percentage of each asset goes where. This is another easy, no-hassle way to gift these non-cash assets.

We want to see you make your gift in the most meaningful and advantageous way to you and your family. Let us know how we can help. Contact Tracy Simons, Executive Director of the Silver Cross Foundation at (815) 300-7113 or via email at tsimons@silvercross.org. And thank you for helping to advance healthcare in our community.

Physicians on Silver Cross Hospital’s Medical Staff have expertise in their areas of practice to meet the needs of patients seeking their care. These physicians are independent practitioners on the Medical Staff and are not the agents or employees of Silver Cross Hospital. They treat patients based upon their independent medical judgment and they bill patients separately for their services.
