Silver Cross to Host ‘Positively Pink’ Breast Cancer Awareness Forum Oct. 19
Featuring Survivor Ericka Moore and Mrs. America 2022 Nicole La Ha Zwiercan
Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox is offering an evening of discussion and awareness as they shine the light on breast cancer in a free forum, “Positively Pink,” Wednesday, Oct. 19, 5-7 p.m.
Ericka Glorious Moore, Cancer Survivor
Nicole La Ha Zwiercan Mrs. America 2022
Dr. Laura Ragauskaite Breast/General Surgeon
The forum will feature Dr. Laura Ragauskaite , Medical Director of the Silver Cross Hospital Breast Center, speaking about breast cancer detection and treatment, including clinical trials.
Other highlights include a motivational presentation by Ericka Moore , a breast cancer survivor and recent patient at Silver Cross and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, who will share her message of positivity. And Nicole La Ha Zwiercan, Mrs. America 2022 and a Homer Glen resident, will also be present and encourage women to take care of their health first!
Moore, a Tinley Park resident, already had been delivering seminars on empowering women for nearly a decade, sharing personal details of how she overcame bullying, temptation of suicide and tragic losses in her family to become a successful and ultra-positive businesswoman and motivational speaker.
Then Moore had to put that message – her faith in God and a lot of prayer – to the test once again as she faced breast cancer treatment at Silver Cross.
Moore flew into her final radiation treatment May 13 as she was dressed in a superman shirt with a cape and rang the bell symbolizing her breast cancer treatment journey had come to a happy end…cancer-free! She carried a sign saying, “I overcame breast cancer, what’s your super power?”
The evening will also feature informational booths about lymphedema treatment , from experts at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab at Silver Cross , and clinical trials from representatives at the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center at Silver Cross .
The free forum is limited to 120 participants. Register here for this informative program. It could change your life!
