Heather Voorn appointed to Silver Cross Hospital Foundation Board

Heather Voorn has joined the Board of Directors for the Silver Cross Foundation – the 501c (3) fundraising arm for Silver Cross Hospital. 

“We are thrilled that Heather has chosen to join the Silver Cross Foundation Board,” said Tracy Simons, Executive Director of the Silver Cross Foundation. “With her support and guidance, we will continue to provide needed financial resources to assist Silver Cross Hospital in enhancing and expanding services to our patients and the community.”

Voorn is a partner with Voorn, Jaworski, & Preston, PLLC and is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation*. She handles estate planning, special needs planning for individuals with disabilities, estate and trust administrations, guardianship, corporate planning, fiduciary litigation, and long-term care planning. Until recently, Heather was a partner with DDV Law, Ltd. 

A Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in Will County, Voorn is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Will County Bar Association, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), NAELA Foundation, Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and CASA of River Valley. She is also accredited by the Veteran’s Administration and serves on the faculty of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Voorn is also a co-author of Advising Elderly Clients and their Families, has spoken locally and nationally on elder law issues, and is considered an expert on Nursing Home Residents’ rights. 

She earned her bachelor’s degree from The Florida State University, magna cum laude, and her J.D. at The John Marshall Law School, where she also graduated magna cum laude. While a student at The John Marshall Law School, Voorn was on the Law Review and externed for the Honorable Charles R. Norgle of the Northern District of Illinois District Court. She also has been published in the Forum on Public Policy: A Journal of the Oxford Round Table

Voorn lives and works in New Lenox.
