New Angiography System at Silver Cross Hospital Uses Lower Dose with Greater Resolution
When dealing with cardiac or vascular procedures getting as much information as possible is key, which is what the new Philips EP Angiography suite at Silver Cross Hospital can do.
This new system can perform complex cardiac and vascular procedures with insightful guidance all while using a low X-ray dosage. The state-of-the-art room was designed to treat patients with complex cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and ventricular tachycardias, among others.
Other features include:
- State-of-the-art cardiac mapping for arrhythmia ablations
- 3D reconstruction of the chambers and structures of the heart to identify sources of arrhythmias
- Improved fluoroscopic visualization for cardiac and peripheral angiograms
- More information in less time with less X-ray dose.
“At Silver Cross, we’re committed to using the highest quality approaches in treating our patients,” said Brendan Casey, Manager of Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, and Endoscopy at Silver Cross. “This new angiography suite allows us to get more information in less time, and helps improve our quality of care.”
“Silver Cross Hospital has invested in a new, advanced electrophysiology laboratory utilizing the latest technology in three dimensional mapping and ablation,” said Dr. Sunil Shroff, MD, FACC, FHRS. “Previously untreatable heart rhythm conditions are now routinely being cured due to technological achievements over the last 15 years. Silver Cross, in addition to having the tools to effectively treat heart rhythm patients, also has exceptional staff. Nurses and technicians are competent, experienced, and caring. Because of this combination, Silver Cross cares for many patients with heart rhythm conditions effectively and safely, and is a high volume center as well as a destination for cardiac arrhythmia care.”
