Continuing its commitment to be at the forefront of advanced medical technology, The Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital has been designated as a Robotic Training Epicenter by Intuitive Surgical, maker of the da Vinci® Surgical System.
As an official Epicenter training site, Silver Cross hosts surgeons from across the nation and around the world as they learn robotic surgical techniques by observing surgeons in our robotic surgical suites.
Silver Cross and the Epicenter team were selected because of our demonstrated excellence in patient outcomes, exceptional teaching capabilities, and surgical experience.
Epicenter and Case Observation Surgeons provide education opportunities for visiting surgeons. They are leaders in their field in terms of experience, overall volume, and quality outcomes.
Dr. Reza Gamagami is an Epicenter Surgeon having mastered robotic surgery technology and technique. He provides education and training to other highly qualified surgeons who wish to improve their proficiency in robotic general and colorectal surgery techniques including Single-Site™ da Vinci® Cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery).
Dr. Nahla Merhi is also an Epicenter Surgeon, providing training and observation for visiting surgeons in urogynecologic and gynecologic robotic surgery cases such as Single-Site® da Vinci® Hysterectomy.
