Marybeth Antone

Vice President of Clinical Operations

Marybeth Antone is Vice President of Clinical Operations at Silver Cross Hospital. 

A Registered Professional Nurse by training, she was initially recruited to lead the development of Silver Cross’s cardiac service line and was instrumental in setting up the first outpatient cardiac catheterization lab with Heartland Cardiology. She also had responsibility for Diagnostic Imaging and worked closely with the radiologists in expanding the hospital’s capabilities, including the design and implementation of the Center for Women’s Health.  

Marybeth worked with other leadership team members to plan and execute the move to the new hospital campus in 2012 and the implementation of the hospital's patient-centered care model. 

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Antone raised her hand to develop and lead the Procedural Care Unit (PCU), which has grown significantly over the years. New to surgery at the time, she worked with her team to introduce the first Da Vinci robot just two months after the move to the hospital's New Lenox campus. 

The robotics program has flourished under her leadership, and Silver Cross Hospital is now the busiest robotic program in the Chicagoland area. Marybeth is a highly sought-after speaker on the topic of robotics at the national level and uses these speaking engagements as an opportunity to spotlight the hospital and its robotics program.  

Antone has led the development of other significant clinical programs on the PCU as well, including Advanced Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, Cardiology and Endovascular Neurology services. Under Antone’s leadership, Silver Cross successfully launched an open-heart surgery program in 2019 with Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeon Dr. Pat Pappas and his team which has exceeded expectations. 

In addition, Antone took on responsibility for Silver Cross’s Laboratory a year ago and has been instrumental in expanding the laboratory’s capabilities.
