Celebrating 10 Years in our New Lenox Campus
Saturday, Feb. 26, marks the 10th anniversary of our New Lenox campus. And in just 10 years, we’ve accomplished a LOT!
To recognize this important milestone and honor Silver Cross for our many contributions over the past decade, New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann read a special proclamation at the Village Board’s Feb. 14 meeting. Silver Cross President and Chief Executive Officer Ruth Colby and Senior Vice President of External Affairs Scott Paddock were present during the reading of the proclamation.
“We’re incredibly honored and thankful to have Silver Cross as part of our community, continuously providing impeccable healthcare and medical service to our residents,” Mayor Baldermann said.
And we’re equally grateful for the community support we’ve received over the years and the many opportunities we’ve been afforded to better meet the growing healthcare needs of all who come through our doors. In the last 10 years , we’ve:
Partnered with several of Chicago’s leading academic medical centers so residents wouldn’t have to travel far for cancer care, advanced pediatrics care, rehabilitation, or stroke care.
Started the Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery, a robotic surgery program that today is Chicagoland’s busiest and most successful.
Introduced an open-heart surgery and structural heart program, and now have an expansive lung cancer program.
Helped bring needed mental health services to the area through our partnership with Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital.
Opened two urgent care centers, one in New Lenox and one in Mokena, and
In the next few weeks will be opening the first and only neonatal intensive care unit in Will County.
And thanks to our Silver Cross Family’s commitment to providing the very best and safest care, we’ve also earned numerous national awards for safety, quality and patient experience including a 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, a 100 Top Hospital recognition and Straight A’s for patient safety from the Leapfrog Group.
