Silver Cross Hospital

The way you should be treated.™

Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital is now providing specialized inpatient psychiatric treatment to adolescents ages 13-17 (18 if still in high school). The 25-bed unit is dedicated to providing a safe and therapeutic environment of care for teens to focus on healing and feeling better. Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital is aware that teens face increasing challenges from daily life. While in treatment, teens will learn different types of coping mechanisms and techniques to help them understand mental health and appropriate self-care. They can feel safe to talk about their feelings, share their experiences and focus on healing.

Silver Cross offers several classes to help new parents prepare and expect the best from their birthing experience in the hospital’s Women and Infant Services Birthing Center. For more information or to register for one or more childbirth classes, visit www.silvercross.org

It may not feel like it, but summer is just around the corner which means sunny days, warm breezes and more skin exposed when you’re outside. But adding sun screen with a higher sun protection factor (SPF) to your morning routine could help prevent the most widespread and common cancer out there today: skin cancer.

When it comes to a family’s healthcare, women rule the roost, making nearly 80 percent of all decisions. Women also tend to be the primary caregiver when a family member becomes ill. In fact, women devote so much time to everyone else, they often overlook their own needs.
