Silver Cross offers free program about treating gallbladder disease on October 4

(September 28, 2016) — Are you one of the millions of Americans who live with gallbladder disease? The two major conditions that comprise gallbladder disease are gallstones and cholecystitis. If you suffer from either of these conditions, it’s important to know that these illnesses are risk factors for gallbladder cancer and bile duct cancer. The Midwest Institute for Robotic Surgery at Silver Cross Hospital is hosting a free lecture on Gallbladder Disease that will educate residents on how to treat this condition.

(Sept. 22, 2016)—Depression is no mere slump in mood. Unlike “the blues,” which tends to clear up in a few days, depression frequently is both prolonged and recurring. It can’t be ignored, and it can’t be joked or whistled away. Sufferers of depression are likely to experience: 

  • Prolonged loss of interest in home, work and personal appearance
  • Loss of interest in sexual activity
  • Sudden changes or excesses in eating or sleeping habits
  • Frequent, uncontrollable crying
  • Lingering, unfocused nervousness or grouchiness
  • Persistent feelings of hopelessness and futility 

(Sept. 23, 2016)--The Will County Union of King’s Daughters and Sons will hold the fourth annual Silver Crossings Vendor/Craft Fair on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 am. to 3 p.m. in the Silver Cross Hospital Conference Center, Pavilion A, 1890 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox.  Free valet and shuttle bus service.  Admission is also free.  Strollers are welcome. 

Silver Cross Hospital hosts free lecture Oct. 18 at Silver Cross Hospital

(September 21, 2016)— According to the Urology Care Foundation of the American Urological Association, erectile dysfunction affects as many as 30 million men. Unfortunately, erectile dysfunction in men can occur at any age, caused by multiple conditions, slowly getting worse with age. Silver Cross Hospital is offering a lecture on Sexual Dysfunction in Men that will educate area residents on how to treat this issue.
