Partial Hospitalization Program
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a specialized unit that provides outpatient group therapy for patients 18 years or older. The program is available for individuals who are experiencing psychiatric distress that impairs their daily functioning in significant life areas, but who do not require 24 hour supervision. PHP is designed as an alternative to inpatient psychiatric treatment and as a transition from the inpatient psychiatric program back into the community.
As a treatment modality, PHP services are provided by a interdisciplinary treatment team consisting of a registered nurse, social workers, licensed therapist and a recreational therapist under the direction of a psychiatrist. The treatment team provides each patient with interdisciplinary assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, medication education and discharge/aftercare planning.
