Amounts Generally Billed (AGB) Calculation
No individual determined eligible for financial assistance under Silver Cross Hospital’s financial assistance policies will be charged more for emergency or medically necessary hospital care than the Amounts Generally Billed (“AGB”) to individuals with insurance covering such care. The AGB is a percentage of Silver Cross Hospital’s full, undiscounted charges for such care. The AGB for Silver Cross Hospital is calculated as follows: (1) Silver Cross Hospital is using the 12 month “look-back method” to calculate the AGB. This method bases AGB on fully paid hospital claims with a primary payer of either Medicare fee-for-service or a commercial payer during the period of October 1st, 2022 through September 30th, 2023. (2) Silver Cross Hospital divides the sum of total payments made by those payers by the sum of total hospital charges for those claims to identify the “AGB percentage”.
Silver Cross Hospital ABG effective January 31, 2024: 36.54%.
