Your Recovery

Many hospitals send stroke patients to other places to complete a rehabilitation program.  Not Silver Cross. The partnership we have with The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) ensures you will get an unmatched recovery experience close to home.

The effects of a stroke can vary greatly from person to person—as can the pace and progress of recovery.  RIC’s comprehensive rehabilitation program is designed to improve your mobility, memory and communication so you live your best life.

An expert staff of specialist physicians, therapists, nurses, and other clinicians provide care in a cheerful, motivating environment containing a new 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. Every aspect of the RIC Inpatient Unit—from spacious private rooms to the ability achievement center—is designed with your rehabilitation care in mind. We even offer a monthly Stroke Support Group for patients and family members.

And if you want to continue your rehabilitation in an outpatient environment, our four outpatient facilities located at Silver Cross Hospital and in New Lenox, Homer Glen, and West Joliet, will let you do just that.
