Friends of Silver Cross

Dear Friends,

Hello, my name is Gina Smith. I am a long-time resident of Joliet and the proud mother of two young kids. Like any mother, I want what is best for them. And, I truly believe that Silver Cross does too. That is why I support Silver Cross and its plans to build a replacement hospital.

A new hospital that will bring more services, better technology and Children’s Memorial doctors to the people of Will County is an amazing opportunity for our community. We need this—we deserve this.

Below is a letter to the editor that I sent to the newspapers today. You should write a letter to voice your support too!

Dear Editor,

I want to thank the Joliet Herald News for its support of Silver Cross’ replacement hospital. It is refreshing that our community newspaper can see the bigger picture here and recognize that Silver Cross' plans represent a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Silver Cross wants to bring the people of Joliet, and the nearby communities, a new hospital with the latest technology and more health care services, not to mention Children’s Memorial doctors, to our own backyard. Your family and children deserve this and so do mine.

That is why it is frustrating to me that the leaders of Joliet are spending taxpayer dollars to prevent my family and your family from receiving the best health care. They need to put politics aside and do what’s best for the community.

As a resident of Joliet and a mother of two, I know how important this replacement hospital is to the families of this community and the future of Will County. I hope the state does too.
