Friends of Silver Cross
Silver Cross is making our community healthier... one breath at a time.
Breathing cleaner air makes our community a better place to live and work.
That is why it is so refreshing to know that Silver Cross Hospital recently received the Rideshare Excellence award from the Partners for Clean Air Coalition (PCAC) for its proactive approach to planning the replacement hospital. The award recognizes companies for their outstanding, voluntary efforts to improve air quality in their community.
When Silver Cross announced its plans for a replacement hospital in New Lenox, just three miles east of its current campus, one of its biggest priorities was making sure people had access to public transportation. “The last thing we want to do is create more traffic and increase the need for cars,” said Paul Pawlak, CEO of Silver Cross. “Breathing clean air is also a concern for all health care providers.”
In planning for the replacement hospital, Silver Cross worked with Pace to develop transportation plans to the campus and the appropriate bus stops on the campus. Pace was able to create bus routes directly to the new campus in New Lenox.
Help Silver Cross make our community a healthier place to live by supporting its plans for a replacement hospital which will provide more services, state-of-the-art technology and better access to all families. Please send a letter of support to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board.
