Joliet, IL (October 22, 2010) — Charles C. MacDonald, M.D., neonatology-perinatology and board certified pediatrics physician, has joined the Silver Cross Medical Staff. Dr. MacDonald attended medical school at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN. He completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, MA. His office is located with Pediatric Faculty Foundation.

Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health Help Raise Awareness at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk
Joliet, IL (October 21, 2010) — Along with 2,000 men and women of all ages wearing a variety of pink apparel, the Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health employees participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Centennial Park Soccer Field in Orland Park on October 17.
Childerguild to Recognize Dr. Mark Danielson & Bob Rogina at Annual Ball Nov. 20
Joliet, IL (October 20, 2010)— The Childerguild will host its 82nd annual Ball Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Odyssey Country Club in Tinley Park. The evening’s festivities will include the presentation of the Silver Cross Sehring Medal of Excellence for Healthcare to Dr. Mark Danielson and the Silver Cross Sangmeister Medal of Excellence for Community Service to community leader Bob Rogina. This year’s Ball is particularly special since it marks Childerguild’s 100 years of service to Silver Cross Hospital by raising funds to support and serve women and children.
Negotiations with VA Moving Forward
Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission is pleased with Progress
Joliet, IL (Oct. 19, 2010)—Silver Cross Hospital and the Veteran’s Administration (VA) have furthered their negotiations on the sale of the Emergency Department to the VA. The VA hopes to establish a community based outpatient clinic on the Silver Cross campus after the hospital relocates to New Lenox in 2012. The parties have reached verbal agreement-in-principle on significant terms which are being memorialized in an Offer to Sell contract.
