Local women brings comfort to patients at Silver Cross with handmade shawls and blankets
New Lenox, IL (October 5, 2012)—Five years ago, a group of ladies from United Methodist Church in New Lenox started getting together twice each month to crochet and knit shawls. They begin each meeting with a prayer, and continued to recite blessings as they stitched. After the shawls and blankets were complete, they would gather together in a prayer of comfort, strength and peace that comes from God; hoping that whoever received this gift would feel strengthened by this blessing.
Silver Cross Simulates Emergency Department Setting to Educate Teens on the Dangers of Drunk and Distracted Driving
Joliet, IL (October 3, 2012) — High School students witnessed the dangers of drunk driving at the “Road to Reality” program at Lincoln-Way Central High School on September 25, 2012. With the help of live actors, the impact of drunk driving unfolded before the students’ eyes as they witnessed a series of live scenes depicting students drinking at a party, a motor vehicle crash, a simulated hospital Emergency Department, and ultimately an appearance before a judge.
Silver Cross Hospital Employees Awarded Scholarships
