The Advisory Board recently gave Silver Cross Hospital $38,000. This payment is part of the Advisory Board’s $105,000 pledge to help fund the purchase of new surgical equipment and patient care needs for the hospital.
Salesman/Handy-man Recovers from Stroke at Silver Cross for Disney World Vacation
Ken Garland was in the midst of rehabbing his basement when he suffered a stroke on Sept. 8, 2015. After eating a slice of pizza, he stood up to get back to work when he felt dizzy and a loss of balance. He sat back down, and after a few moments, stumbled upstairs to rest. He was slouched down on the sofa when his wife returned from walking the dog. Ken was perspiring profusely. His wife called 911 and within minutes the Manhattan paramedics were transporting Ken to the Silver Cross Emergency Department (ED) where a Code Stroke Team was awaiting his arrival. By this time, Ken felt tingling in his arms and legs.
Childerguild Raises over $202,000 for Silver Cross at Annual Ball
Over 485 friends of Silver Cross Hospital attended the 88th Annual Childerguild Ball on November 19 at the Odyssey Country Club and enjoyed wonderful food and dancing. The premiere event of the holiday season raised over $202,000 which will be used to support women’s and children’s services at Silver Cross Hospital.
